Asparagus With Mandarin Oranges

In the 16th Century, asparagus gained popularity in France and England.  From there, the early colonists brought it to America.  Asparagus is often called the “Food of Kings.”  King Louis XIV of France was so fond of this delicacy that he ordered special greenhouses built so he could enjoy asparagus all year-round.


  1. Asparagus
  2. Egg
  3. Flour
  4. Mandarin oranges
  5. Salt
  6. Pepper
  • Nutmeg (optional)

Tasty asparagus tempura

Cut off the tips of the asparagus.

Chop asparagus for salad

Cut the asparagus into medium slice.

Time cooking for asparagus

Add the egg and mix well.

Asparagus garnish

Then salt and pepper and add the nutmeg (optional).

Asparagus dinner

Add to 2 tablespoons of flour.

And mix flour with asparagus.

Heat up a frying pan. Add olive oil and put asparagus in a frying pan.


Cook the asparagus for 15 minutes then cover the lid and cook for 10 more minutes.
